Implant placement can be completed using various protocols. The aim of this study was to compare the crestal bone heights between Laser-Lok and traditional implants being placed and loaded using different protocols.

Study Results

Average Bone Loss (mm)

Laser-Lok implants significantly reduced crestal bone loss compared to traditional implants when placed and loaded immediately.

Immediate Placement and Load Bone Loss (mm)

Regardless of the placement and loading protocol or implant position (maxilla or mandible) Laser-Lok implants significantly reduced crestal bone loss compared to traditional implants.

Study Conclusion

Microtextured surfaces can be used to control bone and soft tissue responses to implant surfaces

Eliminate the negative sequelae associated with peri-implant bone loss, regardless of the timing of implant placement
