Peri-implantitis and peri-implant mucositis are dental infections frequently responsible for late implant failures. This study examined the effect of implant collar surface on the incidence of peri-implantitis and peri-implant mucositis over a 5 year period.

Implants with Laser-Lok presented a statistically significant lower incidence of peri-implant diseases than traditional surfaces.
